The Life of a Boxer Named Gromit

Our 365 day project for 2010 has come to a close. I didn't sign up to do another 365 day project, instead I chose a 52 week project. I can work on some ideas that I have had and really be creative. Let the fun begin! At the start of this project, Gromit is 2 years and 2 months old.

Day 90

Gromit and I went for a nice (steep) walk with our friends this morning, then I had to run some errands while Gromit guarded the house...When I finally made it home, we had just enough time to do one large field loop. The sky was getting really dark and gloomy and you could tell it was going to start pouring any minute. Well, we made it just in time. Grommie was bookin'

Day 89

Gromit and I have been on the go since 9:00 this morning. We had to work in the office today which means Gromit gets to spend his day playing with a bunch of his buddies. There are 3 or 4 of them all right around Gromits age. When we finally made it home, he was pushing around his food dish (means he wants food) but I wasn't quite ready, so it was a biscuit to hold him over...

Day 88

A very busy day. Lots going on , lots left to do. Time for just a quick romp in the field.
Boing!

Day 87

Ok, it has been a very busy day today...nice too. First dad took me for a nice romp in the field, then he had to go, but mom came home and we loaded up in the car and went to the softball field where dad was playing softball, but that was boring, so we walked over to the dog park, and met up with a few old friends and met some knew ones. Played there for awhile, then went back to the softball field, said goodbye to dad, then went up to the harbor to drop of some stuff at Princeton Seafood, and pick up and count some stuff at Huck Finn. A quick little walk and potty break and photo op. We just got home a little bit ago. What an exhausting day, and we are suppose to go hang out with Lucky for a while too, I just don't know when.

Day 86

It is another really nice day. The rains are suppose to start at some point tomorrow, so I had better take advantage of today. So we did. Gromit and I started the morning with a really nice long field romp. He loves to run through the tall grass (usually with his eyes closed). I don't know how he did this, but it sure is funny!

Day 85

A really nice sunny day, a little chilly if you're out in the wind, but really nice. Gromit and I went for a nice long walk with a couple of his buddies this morning nice and early. He had breakfast after we made it home, which included some new food....He was out of his mind, ate all of his breakfast and kept pushing his bowl around as if he wanted more. He finally gave up and went outside to lay in the sun.... I caught him at one point just lookin' good!

Day 84

How peaceful is the house when the puppy is sleeping!!!! Soooo peaceful!

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Day 83

Yes, I was slacking yesterday, but today I am completely on the ball, even though I don't want to be there. Gromit on the other hand has had a very busy day. A quick paced walk from Miramar to the Harbor and back, then a road trip to Palo Alto to visit one of his favorite stores...Bear Images Photographic, then home. Once inside, he gave me this look, like what else, what are we doing next. Then over to the couch, and out like a light. Those car rides are so exhausting!

Day 82

Busy, busy day today. The sun was out, Grom was guarding his yard...as usual.

Monday, March 22, 2010

Day 81

A bright, sunny day today. The wind was cold. Tim took the Grom to the beach for a nice long romp, and followed that up with a field romp. Then Grom just took to laying in the sun and chewing on his bones. What a life!

Day 80

Today it started out a little foggy and gray, but the sun came out and it ended up being a cool but sunny-hazy day. Gromit spent most of his afternoon "helping" with the weeding and the gardening, and then resting in his chair, perched just right so he could see everything going on outside.

Day 79

For those of you who were curious, Earl is no longer with us as he has been ripped into tiny little latex rubber pieces which are now all over my office floor. I guess we all know what I will be doing later. In the meantime, we woke up this morning to gray skies, and temps. about 15 degrees lower...Gromit is pleased, he is not nearly as hot! I picked up my camera to take a couple of photos of him this afternoon and he has to know what is going on...so I only have Half a Gromit.

Day 78

Ok, ok, ok...I know everyone is tired of hearing it, but not tired of it, and that is the weather. It is 80 in my backyard right now. This is the 7th day in a row now, I look like I have been out in the sun (which I have), and Gromit sounds like he has been out in the sun. When it is this nice outside, it is so hard to be kept inside, but Grom is so hot...I did manage to catch him approx. 48 hours later with what is left of Earl. Poor Earl, no feet, missing a leg, beak is gone, holes all over...48 hours - GONE!

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Day 77

Again, I guess I don't need to say it but I will, another absolutely beautiful day...Gromit had fun this morning, we went on a romp up in the Montara hills, came home hung out and weeded in the back yard, played, completely destroyed Earl, another field romp. Hung out in the sun some more. That's it for the day, now it is time for bed.

Day 76

Yesterday was another gorgeous day, and a very busy day. Grom and I went for an early morning walk with some buddies, then home, then back out for a photo shoot, then home, then back out for another walk, then home, then back out for dinner, then home....Somewhere in there we were able to run to the local pet store and pick up a couple of things including Earl, which Gromit destroyed in ohhhh, approx. 15 minutes. Here is Earl before he lost a leg and his beak.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Day 75

Again...I know this is totally repetitious...but the weather - just gorgeous! Gromit even had to wear sunglasses the sun was soooo bright.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Day 74

Yet another beautiful sunny day on the coast. Wow, what is that 3 or 4 in a row now. Gromit just doesn't know what to do with himself. Lounging in the sun, running in the field chasing his wooba. Today was a Wooba day.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Day 73

Another beautiful day on the coast! Grom went out with Tim this morning for a few hours, running, playing, etc...while I was out photographing something other than Gromit (yes, it does happen). Anyway, this afternoon Tim and I met up with our neighbor for another dog romp. The wind had picked up and it was getting cold out. That does not stop the dogs. Gromit LOVES the water, and plucking things out of it and sticking his face in it and blowing bubbles. Still not quite swimming....

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Day 72

What a beautiful day. Gromit loved it. We were out early for a really long run/romp. He played in the big puddles (really big) from the rains yesterday and all was good. He spent most of the afternoon laying in the sun, but then it was time for some more play time. We went for a field romp with the neighbors, and ran into another neighbor. Busy, busy, busy, but that wasn't enough. We had to play with the candy corn in the yard when we got back. One of Grom's looks...what is he thinking right now?

Day 71

Camera - check, lens - check, another lens - check, flash - check, wallet - check, lipstick - check, TREATS - CHECK!
Wow this bag fits a lot of stuff. Check it out www.epipaniebags.com

Day 70

Yesterday was a very busy day. Grom would go out and lay in the sun, then come in panting and looking for me, then go back out and lay in the sun. He finally settled on laying down just inside the door so he could keep an eye on both inside and outside and be both in the sun and the shade.

Day 69

Woke up early this morning. It was storming something fierce. Crawled back into bed and tried to fall asleep for a few more hours...tossed and turned more than anything. Tim had to get up at 5:30 for work, so I decided I might as well..made some coffee. Grom crawled out of bed, looked at me, jumped up onto the sofa and fell back asleep. Little did he know, we were going to the beach for a good run with some of his buddies. As soon as he saw me putting on my socks, he knew something was up. Oh boy, oh boy! You could just see that look on his face. Off to the beach we went. It was cold out, and for the most part we were in the shadows of the bluffs, which made it feel even colder. Gromit didn't mind, he loves going to the beach - just loves it! Running across the sand, running through the water, running, running running....

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 68

It was a really cold day here on the Pacific Coast. Grom and I had to work up at the office for a while. When we finally made it home, we went for a short walk around the neighborhood. Gromit is super tired now, maybe I can get some work done.....

Monday, March 8, 2010

Day 67

A bit colder and much more windy out today. Rain, then sun, now it looks like more rain. So, I figured, what better day to clean the house. Well at least vacuum.
Gommie hates the vacuum...especially the Roomba!

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Day 66

Only 299 days to go. Today has been a rather gloomy, gray day and I don't think anyone has a whole lot of energy in this house including Gromit. His afternoon consisted of sitting on his favorite chair staring out the window and blowing drool-bubbles. So serious though...

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Day 65

Wow, 65 days of following Gromit around with camera in hand have already passed. So quickly too! This morning we went out for a walk and if you have been following along, you already know that Gromit loves puddles. Big puddles, little puddles, it doesn't really matter as long as he can run into it and stick his face in it. The question is Boxer or Water Dog?

Friday, March 5, 2010

Day 64

Today was just one of those days. Gromit hung out with me at Cool Harbor Nights yesterday afternoon and he was pretty tired this morning. I had a few errands to run, he couldn't go but as soon as I got home, we went for a field run...It is still really muddy, but he had a really good time. When all of a sudden he stopped in the middle of the trail and started the SNEEZE...

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Day 63

So, if you think that it's our bed, you are mistaken. It is really Gromit's bed, he just shares a little space with Tim and I.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Day 62

We went from a wonderful hour long romp on the beach with some buddies. Gromit ran and ran and ran and ran and ran. Meanwhile, I walked slowly along the beach chatting with a friend. Overall a really great morning. As soon as we got home, Grom at his breakfast, and took a curled up position in his favorite chair. He was trying so hard to keep his eyes open and his head up, it took everything I had not to burst out laughing!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Day 61

A very busy day today. Running errands, office work, rabies vac. Lots going on. Just had a minute and snapped a couple of shots of the always guarding his yard, very serious looking Gromit.

Monday, March 1, 2010

Day 60

Tim and I took the Grom out this morning for a nice long field romp. The ticks are already getting bad and it's just the first of March. Although that does not stop Gromit from his favorite thing to do, and that is chase the Wooba. He loves to take off after that thing, running back with it, throwing it into the air, trying to catch it. It was low light and hard to get a clear shot, still practicing on the tracking, but I love the look of this, and he had a blast!
